Prior to joining BDO Canada in 2009, Catherine (Cate) Theriault has worked in the Insolvency industry since 1990 and has extensive experience in personal insolvency working as a Senior Estate Administrator. She has successfully completed the Insolvency Counselling Course through Ryerson and the Insolvency Administrator’s Course through the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals. Previously, she studied Psychology and Social Development Studies at the University of Waterloo.
Cate understands how difficult it can be for her clients to make the initial call for assistance and she prides herself in providing a comfortable and compassionate environment where people can have their questions and concerns answered. She develops a tailored approach for each person’s individual circumstance that allows them to find relief from the financial burdens they have been struggling with.
Financial counselling is extremely important to Cate as she believes this is the key to allowing people to learn the skills needed to develop a budget and plan for their future without having to rely on credit. With her guidance and down to earth personality she takes the fear out of financial restructuring and provides her clients with real life skills to move forward.
